Following the Trust Frequency: Andrew Cameron Bailey and Connie Baxter Marlow Visit Tavira
During their June 2026 journey through Portugal, authors, filmmakers, futurists, and consciousness pioneers Andrew Cameron Bailey and Connie Baxter Marlow visited Tavira, bringing with them a philosophy that centres trust as the foundation of a new paradigm for humanity.
I interviewed them at my home, on Monte Agudo, near Tavira, in the eastern Algarve. The couple shared their experiences of Portugal, the philosophy behind their acclaimed book The Trust Frequency, and Andrew’s forthcoming work, HoloSapiens: Conscious Evolution in Action.
Andrew is a tall, grounded guy who exudes enthusiasm about life and adventure. Connie has warm, deep, watchful eyes and is clearly a guiding force. She was born in Maine, USA, to activist parents, who championed the earth, water and women.
A Call to Portugal
I met both of them at the Body of Joy retreat, organised by Gender Reconciliation leaders Cytnhia Brix and Will Keepin, near Tavira.
For Andrew, visiting Portugal had been a long-held dream. “I’ve always wanted to visit Portugal,” he said.
Born in England, raised in South Africa and living in the United States since 1970, he described how recent years had prompted him to consider a new chapter in life.
“In those days, the States was a place of hope, and the future looked certain that we were going to basically reinvent a lot of things in terms of the way the world was and the way America was, and it has seemingly gone in a different direction. So certain recent political changes got me thinking about being somewhere else on the planet. Why should I stay in this country? I’m not American. Why should I stay? I’m married to a beautiful American woman whose ancestors came over on the Mayflower, and she says she’s been there longer than just about anybody.
And I started to look around the world and say, well, okay, if we were to relocate now, what about the kids, we have grandchildren. It’s not easy to think about leaving and abandoning everybody, that kind of thing. Those thoughts come up. But I started actually researching, going online and researching. We have very little money, cash-wise. We are very rich in everything except cash.
And yeah, I said, okay, we’ve got so much monthly income and potential, where could we live the most comfortably for the least amount of money, so that we could have a comfortable life and be effective in our work and be somewhere else for a while? Why not? There are about 200 countries on the planet, so why would we be living in the States?
So Portugal came up as number one in that search. I grew up in South Africa. I looked at South Africa economically, very good from the point of view of bringing in American dollars and so on, but from other standpoints, such as safety, security, violence, and danger, maybe not so good. I love New Zealand, on and on. But Portugal just kept waving this flag. Me me me me me.”
Living by the Trust Frequency
Connie, joining the conversation, added:
“We got the call to come to Portugal. Andrew had been dreaming this dream, and we got a call from the organisers of the Holowave conference that just happened in Cascais, saying, ‘We want you at this conference,’ and they sent us the financial means to come. So we live according to the call of the universe.
We’ve written this book, The Trust Frequency: Ten Assumptions for a New Paradigm,. And in this paradigm, one walks in absolute trust of a conscious, loving, abundant universe, which shifts one’s frequency into a reality where one experiences the love and abundance of the universe. So that’s how we live. And so this call came for us to come to Portugal after he’d been dreaming of it.
And here we are in Portugal at this conference in Cascais. And then we came to another gathering of related folks in Sintra. And then, because of some folks that we had known in the United States and had a great relationship with, the call came to come to Tavira, to their retreat centre, and to a five-day retreat where we met you.”
For Connie, these events exemplify her decades-long philosophy. “One understands that circumstance loves us. One listens to the signs that come through circumstance and acts accordingly.”

Saying Yes to Life
Both Connie and Andrew, now in their eighties, still travel, write, film and teach. Asked how they had maintained such purpose and vitality, Andrew returned to the central concept of trust.
“Anyone old enough to remember the 1960s will remember the idea of vibrations,” he said. “If we are in a high vibrational state, what we call the Trust Frequency, we know that all is well. We know that something invisible is opening doors for us.”
He emphasised the importance of accepting invitations and opportunities when they arise.”When an opportunity knocks, or an invitation comes, saying yes is a very big deal. If you say no, that particular door closes. When you say yes, amazing things happen.”
Reflecting on their first two weeks in Portugal, Andrew observed: “Two weeks ago today, we landed in Portugal, and what has happened since has been extraordinary.”
Indigenous Wisdom and a New Paradigm
Connie’s path towards what became The Trust Frequency began many decades ago.
“I was looking for the missing pieces of our paradigm,” she explained. “The way we treat one another and the systems we live within never really worked for me. I came to Europe in the 60s looking for a new way of seeing and being. I found the same kind of thinking. So when I got home, visionary Native American elders began to enter my life. And that’s what this book is. This is indigenous cosmology. I saw through their understanding of the nature of the universe a trust-based paradigm, where you watch for the signs and know that the universe is communicating with you.”
That worldview shaped not only her work but also the way she raised her children.
“I knew each of my children came with a gift to bring to the world. Rather than forcing them into conventional pathways, I trusted that life would guide them towards fulfilling that purpose. Each of my children has had a unique pathway that I supported, because I knew and trusted that the loving universe would take them on that journey to realising the gift that they brought to the world.”
Andrew continued:
“I just wanted to hold up the trust frequency book again, just to explain the cover. It’s an equation – e equals m c squared. I was looking for something for the cover that would express indigenous wisdom, the wisdom of the earth-bound people, the Native Americans, the Australian Aboriginals, and so on and so on and so on. There are millions of people on planet Earth who can be called indigenous. So this is their wisdom, compared with the wisdom of Western science. So let’s say MC squared roughly sums up Einstein’s equation. The image you see there is a symbol you find throughout the American Southwest. It is a figure called Kokopelli.

The new mathematics is Kokopelli equals MC squared. Kokopelli is a deity. And so the MC squared equals quantum science. And the science is proving now what the indigenous peoples have known. So our work is a synthesis of quantum science and indigenous cosmology, our ten assumptions for a new paradigm.”
HoloSapiens: The Next Stage of Human Evolution
I asked about Andrew’s forthcoming book, HoloSapiens: Conscious Evolution in Action. Holding up an advance edition, he described the concept behind the title.
“HomoSapiens are about to take a very subtle, invisible quantum leap in the direction of a more integrated, more coherent human being.”
The evolution he describes is not biological but conscious and deeply personal.
“There is a change that we can bring about by making a very simple decision not to do certain things and to have certain attitudes and orientations. And the operative words are kindness, integrity, and coherence. The operative words are kindness, integrity and coherence. It makes all the difference in the world, and it is entirely internal.”
He sees this transformation as humanity’s next evolutionary step.
“I call the book HoloSapiens, the whole human.”
The edition is a limited release, gathering feedback and endorsements before full publication.
“So the plan for the book is that by probably October or November, it will be complete. I have high ambitions for this book, and it actually has the potential to really, really help people in their personal lives. That’s its purpose. Yes, conscious evolution in action.”
In Search of the Future
Andrew and Connie are not just writing books but are continuing their ongoing documentary project, In Search of the Future, which brings together the voices of more than 250 wisdom keepers, Indigenous elders, scientists and visionaries from around the world. Connie described the project as an invitation to imagine new possibilities.
“It’s about catalysing people into a new future, opening hearts and seeing a new way of being.”
A Magical Evening in Tavira
As the conversation drew towards a close, I asked what impressions Portugal had left on them. For Connie, Tavira was one of the highlights of the entire journey.
“Tavira has been magical,” she said. After arriving in Faro, the couple booked a riverside hotel in Tavira almost on impulse. “It looked lovely, so I booked it,” she laughed.
“We were right on the river and right in the old town. We dressed up, went out for a romantic dinner and simply enjoyed the atmosphere. The feeling of the town was totally magical. We felt so fortunate to have that extra evening there.”
A Shared Vision
As the interview concluded, I noted that Andrew and Connie’s approach, living with mindful trust and conscious evolution, epitomised the main message of Andrew’s new book: HoloSapiens: Conscious Evolution in Action.
Connie agreed. “It takes all of us bringing our gifts forward for this new way of being to become reality.”
They both expressed appreciation for the opportunity to share their story. I was delighted to get to know them better and grateful they took the time to share their work.
For a brief time in June 2026, their story unfolded in Tavira, which became part of a larger journey guided by trust, curiosity, and humanity’s evolving consciousness.
